Thursday 4th June

Another week goes by!  Hopefully the restrictions will continue to lift and we can meet more of our families and friends, of course the sunny warm weather has now deserted us. The attached poster is really helpful to explain some of the dos and don’ts. This week is Volunteer Week and so we say thank you to everyone who has helped to support our community over the last weeks.

Going out, if you have been staying at home, for some may be challenging.  So look at the Clear your head https://clearyourhead.scot/ campaign. Also https://www.health-in-mind.org.uk/resources/5_ways_to_wellbeing/d140/ for some ideas on wellbeing.

The Kettins Wee Store was open on Monday morning and we were able to set up outside the hall. As well as the groceries there were strawberries, rhubarb, eggs and some vegetable plants. We also had face masks for anyone that would like one. If you are out for a walk on Monday morning, in the sun!, then please drop by. We had a good flow of people on Monday so why not drop by next week. We accept donations of goods or £s as well as swaps. So hoping for sun again next Monday or if not we will be in the hall.

Prescriptions and Sunday papers are being collected and delivered too.  Please just let us know if you need these.

New food option:  M&Gs Fish and Chip van will be back in Newtyle, at the park on Monday evenings.  Telephone orders on 07712581734.

As more of the shops are opening and services returning – even partly – from next week the layout of the list of goods and services will be changing as well.

Recipe
Pizza
This is a quick and easy way to do homemade pizza. Makes 2 large or 4 small pizzas.
220g self raising flour
245g Greek yogurt
Preheat the oven to 200 C
In a large bowl mix the flour and yogurt until it forms a ball. Transfer to a floured board and use your hands to flatten it out. Make 2 x 12inch rounds. Use more flour if it starts to stick. For the tomato sauce – anything that you like from tomato/passata/herbs to bbq sauce or some tomato and chilli mix. Then add your chosen toppings. Oven bake for 15 – 20 minutes approx. Enjoy!

Let’s hope that the weekend weather cheers up a bit. But remember meeting only outdoors and minimal travel (about 5 miles) for any exercise.

Keep safe

Susan
